Session 1: August 21 – October 13, 2017

Spanish I

Monday, 6:00-7:30 PM

This course is an introduction to understanding, speaking, reading and writing Spanish. Emphasis will be placed on acquiring a foundation in basic grammar as well as on listening comprehension and spoken Spanish. The course will explore the present tense and students will learn skills related to describing oneself and situations, asking and answering questions, navigating likes and dislikes while dominating basic vocabulary related to topics such as food, travel, family, medicine and more. Classes are taught in a communicative fashion, encouraging student use of the target language from day one.

Spanish III

Tuesday, 6:00-7:30 PM

This course is a conversation course that will incorporate grammar instruction when needed. Using a topical focus, students will improve and enhance their communicative skills and develop confidence in the target language.

Tuition: $250

No textbook needed.


Session 2: October 16 – December 15, 2017

Class will not be held the week of Thanksgiving

Spanish II

Tuesday, 6:00-7:30 PM

This course is a continued introduction to understanding, speaking and reading and writing Spanish. Emphasis will be places on acquiring a foundation in basic grammar as well as on listening comprehension and spoken Spanish. Building on the foundation of Spanish I, the second course will improve present tense use while also introducing more complex verbal tenses such as the preterite and imperfect. Vocabulary will be deepened and extra emphasis will be placed on developing and solidifying communicative skills.
