Collecting and Connoisseurship

Session 2: March 12 – April 30, 2017

Monday, 4:00 – 5:30 PM

This courses is intended for beginning and intermediate art collectors as well as those with an avid interest in collecting wishing to gain greater confidence and expertise in connoisseurship. Benefit from site visits to local auction houses as well as private and institutional collections within the Atlanta area. Students will explore various media of works on paper and paintings in greater depth through roundtable seminars.

Students will advance their knowledge of the history of collecting and gain greater knowledge through the examination of original works of art within the museum setting utilizing the museum’s permanent collection. Students will discover the inner workings of the museum with behind-the-scene examinations of collections development.

Tuition: $325.00 (Tuition includes two field trips)
